Tapping into evidence- based protocols of chiropractic manipulation and functional rehabilitation, as well as an arsenal of treatments, Dr. Sara Rimes helps relieve patients’ pain and maximize their movement.
After graduating from Bowling Green State University and the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, she moved back home to Ohio and founded Chiro C•L•E in Willoughby in 2019.
“As a practice focused on results and quality, I take the time with my patients, getting to the bottom of their issues, and finding out what will get rid of their pain and improve their function as quickly as possible,” she says. “No two patients are alike. I like the challenge of creating a customized plan that will help people feel their best as well as offer ergonomic retraining so they can continue the healing, and prevent future pain, all on their own. I’m passionate about getting people back to doing what they love.”
Since she’s just a few years out of school, Dr. Rimes is a forward-thinking practitioner who likes to work from a combinational perspective, layering several protocols for the best outcomes. Her services include:
• Manipulation – adjustment and mobilization;
• Manual therapy – McKenzie method, myofascial release, instrument-assisted soft tissue;
• Functional rehabilitation – dynamic neuromuscular stabilization;
• Dry needling;
• Cupping therapy;
• Nutritional counseling and supplements.
She treats the gamut of conditions, from back and neck pain, to sprains and strains, headaches and migraines, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, herniated discs, shoulder injuries, sciatica, sports injuries, knee pain, shin splints, nerve injuries, compressions and TMJ.

Dry Needling and Functional Rehab go Hand in Hand
Two procedures that Dr. Rimes often pairs together are dry needling and functional rehabilitation.
“Dry needling uses tiny needles to stimulate blood flow to an affected area, decreasing pain and trigger points and encouraging healing,” she explains. “It’s effective for a lot of conditions including plantar faciitis, elbow pain and back and neck issues. The reason it works so well alongside functional rehab is because once we’ve released the trigger points through needling, we don’t want them to come back, so we work to strengthen the deep, stabilizing muscles around the joints, ‘teaching’ them to activate when they are supposed to.”
Special Care for Moms and Babies “There are so many changes that happen in the body during pregnancy,” she says. “Chiro care helps prevent and manage pain and discomfort. And after delivery, I can work with moms as well to strengthen the pelvic floor and core muscles.”
For babies, she says there’s a developmental blueprint they should follow from birth on up, and about 30% of babies need help with things including difficulty latching on during breastfeeding, constipation or being colicky. She can work with them to get them back on track, and make sure they hit their milestones as they grow like sitting, crawling, and walking.
With so many people working from home, hunched over their computers, Dr. Rimes has been busier than ever. She offers two key preventive tips: at the keyboard, your elbow should be at a 90-degree angle, your hands should not be higher than your elbows when typing. The other tip is to have a chair with great lumbar support and/or a standing desk option.
